Are you feeling insecure or less confident about your outer appearance? Perhaps you are in a time crunch to look your best for your next vacation, feeling overwhelmed, and don’t know where to start. Then you are in the right place! Nailing down a beauty routine is not as complicated as it might sound.
You don’t have to stress about making all the beauty treatment appointments to look good. A lot of things can be done in the comfort of your home without breaking the bank. Below are tips and tricks on how to glow up overnight!
How To Glow Up Overnight
1. Get Your Beauty Sleep
Getting a good night’s sleep may be the most important part of achieving an overnight glow. You can use all the best skincare in the world but you’ll never get optimal results without proper rest. When we sleep our bodies enter recovery mode which increases cell turnover and repairs your skin. If you are not sleeping it’s going to show in eye bags and sagging skin.
An experimental study in a sleep laboratory was done where when comparing well-rested people to sleep-deprived people, the sleep-deprived people appeared less healthy and less attractive. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is crucial and makes a huge difference for an overnight glow.
2. Exfoliate
Exfoliating is such a game-changer when your skin needs a pick-me-up. If you want baby-smooth skin then exfoliating is the way to go. You can use a physical exfoliator like a body scrub and gently buff away any grime and dead skin cells to quickly see and feel the results.
However, if using a scrub is too abrasive for you, then you can opt for a mild chemical exfoliator like beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) or Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). Depending on the chemical exfoliant you use, you may not see results right away but you will be able to tell a difference when you wake up and see glowing skin overnight.
3. Remove Unwanted Hair
Hair grooming is personal and everyone has their own preferences but if you prefer silky smooth skin, then you are going to want to take the time to remove your hair. The hair removal method that is most comfortable for you is the one you should choose.
You can do it the least painful way which is by applying shaving cream and then shaving your body hair off with a razor, using an epilator device which can be a bit painful depending on your pain tolerance, or at home waxing if you are skilled enough to not hurt yourself.
4. Do Your Nails
Well-manicured nails elevate your look. Having nice polished nails doesn’t require a trip to the nail salon. You can achieve beautiful painted or bare nails at home. If you prefer the bare look, you can easily cut or file your nails to your liking, clean them, and apply cuticle oil to nourish and promote healthy nail growth. On the other hand, you can have an at-home nail day where you paint your own nails and give yourself a manicure.
5. Use A Hair Mask
If you want your hair to look and feel its best, use a deep conditioning mask. Using a hair mask provides many benefits to your strands. If your hair is damaged, then a strengthening mask will help because it aids in repairing your hair and making it more manageable and reducing hair breakage. If your hair is dry, a hydrating/moisturizing mask is the way to go to condition your strands, reduce frizz, and add shine.
6. Moisturize
Whether you have dry skin or not, moisturizing is essential for a gorgeous healthy skin glow. When you moisturize, you prevent your skin from drying out and cracking and you maintain a youthful plump look. It also helps to keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay.
Don’t forget to moisturize both your face and body. If you are extra dry and want to take it a step further, add a face or body oil to lock in moisture. You will wake up the next day with radiant skin that feels supple and smooth.
7. Use A Foot Cream
Feet are an area of the body that can easily be looked over. While applying lotion may suffice, sometimes it’s not enough. Since our feet are in shoes all the time and sometimes heels or those shoes that need to be broken in can cause blisters. If you are wearing the wrong shoe size or your feet is causing friction with your shoe when you walk, you can develop callouses.
Using a cream that is specifically made for your feet is ideal. Because it is specifically formulated to help to prevent or repair the thick skin on your feet, it’s best to opt for that over your standard lotion.
8. Use A Lip Mask
Using a lip-sleeping mask at night is a must to achieve juicy plump lips in the morning. It will always beat using a lip balm. Using a lip balm is great for the daytime because it’s more lightweight and you can easily reapply it throughout the day to keep your lips hydrated.
When you are sleeping, you don’t have the option to reapply lip balm so using a thick lip mask keeps your lips hydrated all night long for hours. You will wake up to ultra-smooth kissable lips. It’s the perfect addition to your nighttime skincare routine for that overnight glow.
9. Sleep On Silk
Sleeping on silk is such a luxurious experience and will definitely elevate your beauty sleep. Not only is it luxurious, but it’s so beneficial to your body! When you sleep on silk your skin and hair are maintained longer. For your hair, it prevents snagging, breakage, and dullness, and for your skin, it prevents face creasing, fine lines, and wrinkles. You will see amazing results on your own skin from night one of sleeping on silk.
